FLUORIDE MOUTHRINSE PROGRAM
The Fluoride Mouthrinse Program is again being conducted at Butte View Elementary School for students in grades first, second and third (pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students are not included in this program). This program is offered in cooperation with Southwest District Health Department and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
Regular use of fluoride helps prevent tooth decay. Children who participate in the fluoride mouthrinse program have fewer cavities. The fluoride mouthrinse is administered once a week with adult supervision. Children who take fluoride tablets or receive topical fluoride in the dental office may safely participate in the school fluoride mouthrinse program.
We encourage student participation in this valuable health activity. The program is entirely voluntary and free of charge with parental permission/consent. If you did not check the box providing this permission on the medical consent form you completed at the beginning of the school year and you would like your child to participate, please contact Ms. Kennedy, School Nurse, at 365-3430.
